Our partnership with The Special Lioness
At Slater and Gordon, we are proud to offer our support for children who have profound disabilities and their families. Read more about our partnership with The Special Lioness and how they help children have new and great experiences.
Why choose Slater and Gordon as your legal representative?
We understand just how important The Special Lioness’ are to their community in providing a supportive space for parents and carers, offering invaluable knowledge. The Special Lioness works across the North East with families of children with life-limiting conditions and disabilities to engage in activities which are often not possible for them to enjoy in everyday life.
One of its most popular initiatives is its multi-sensory theatre project for children with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), which usually takes place in November. However, this year, through new funding, the charity can host six sessions across two days in April and May – accommodating 60 children who may not be able to attend mainstream theatre.
At Slater and Gordon, we strive to ensure that we provide a high level of service our clients would expect from one of The Special Lioness’ community members and will ensure we achieve the best possible outcome to their case.

At Slater and Gordon, we pride ourselves on the breadth of cases we can investigate. We have a national medical negligence team, all of whom only practice in this area of the law. This ensures they can offer dedicated and specialist advice to guarantee you receive the rehabilitation, support, and compensation you deserve.

Strong reputation
We have a strong reputation for achieving outstanding results for medical negligence claims, as well as ensuring that the best available treatment and rehabilitation is also obtained. Independent legal guides such as Chambers and Partners and Legal 500 have ranked our teams highly over the years and consider many of our medical negligence experts to be leaders in their field. During this time, we've also won and been shortlisted in several prestigious legal awards such as the Personal Injury Awards, Manchester Legal Awards, Modern Claim Awards, Wales Legal Awards and the Liverpool Law Society Awards.
Our team, which spans across England, Scotland and Wales, also includes nurses and midwives who can offer bespoke medical advice and guidance in addition to the legal expertise provided by our specialist lawyers.
Treatment and rehabilitation support
We work with some of the best case managers and treatment providers in the UK - not only to ensure that the treatment and support you receive is the best available, but also to seek early interim payments. This is a key part of our strategy to ensure there's funding to begin as soon as possible, giving you and your family the best chance for a better quality of life.
No financial risk
Slater and Gordon is also able to offer Legal Aid funding on cases where a child has suffered from a neurological injury at birth or within the early neonatal period.
It’s important to note that not all law firms are able to offer Legal Aid funding, but Slater and Gordon is an exception.
By funding your case through Legal Aid, you'll have no financial risk.
